I was new in the Tampa Bay area in fall of 2000. Being an old metalhead, with a newfound appreciation of jam rock, I never really thought much of techno music. Having lived in southwest Michigan for many years, I had heard some of the industrial stuff in Detroit and Chicago, but not much. This stuff they were playing in Tampa was crazy, funky, cool. .
My friends and I spent many nights at The Amphitheater, and Starlight on 60, and other Ybor and after hours clubs, soaking it all in. And always with The X Factory on WLLD on the radio, guiding us through the night, and into the morning, wherever we ended up. DJ Rose, Trauma, Shiraz, FBI, Mojo... With Alli as our tour guide into debauchery. Also Saturday Night Live on WFLZ with Matt the Bratt and Gemini.
