NIS America made an announcement about Trails through Daybreak's English release announcing a date of July 5th and while I will be making an in-depth video covering everything to know about it, there are a few things that need to be pointed out quickly in the announcement, one of which is close to false advertising.
Point 1:
"Spriggan to Action – Transition seamlessly between action field battles and turn-based combat with the revamped AT (Action Time) Battle system, and expand your arsenal with new Shard Skills, courtesy of the sixth-generation combat orbment, Xipha."
- Don't let this fool you; the action battle system they mention is very very simplistic (you can attack, charge attack, and dodge; that's it) and in all story battles and bosses you can't even use it.
Point 2 (the important one):
"Between Law and Chaos – Under the Alignment system, your choices and actions affect how your story unfolds. Your propensity towards Law, Chaos, and the shades in-between can influence your status in the city, who will ally with or oppose you, and even what jobs and dialogue options are available to you."
- "Under the Alignment system, your choices and actions affect how your story unfolds." --> This is very misleading as it leads you to believe that your choices actually matter when in reality they don't. You can make choices in side-quests that affect their dialogue, but how they end, your rewards, etc. don't change; and in the dialogue choices made during the course of the main story, some scenes (only a handful) change along with some dialogue, but the end result doesn't change. Basically, no matter what choices you make, the story won't change. Think of it like this: when going from point A to point B, you can choose to take path 1 or path 2, both of which are 99% the same.
- "Your propensity towards Law, Chaos, and the shades in-between can influence your status in the city" --> This is just strictly false. Anything related to Edith City, whether that be new areas opening up, shop inventories updating, etc. are all based on main story progress; your Law, Gray, and Chaos alignments have absolutely zero influence on this.
- "who will ally with or oppose you" --> This is true, but only for half of one chapter; and once that chapter concludes everything goes back to normal with no repercussions at all. Essentially, based on who you ally with, the order of the fights for the rest of said chapter change, and who joins you as guest characters changes -- obviously there are some slight dialogue changes at the very end of the chapter as well.
- "and even what jobs and dialogue options are available to you." --> This is mostly false. Your alignment has no impact on what jobs (side quests) you can take and the dialogue options presented to you in these side quests and those throughout the main story are not affected by your alignment in any capacity. The only part of this that could be considered true is with the previous point about who will ally with you, as you actually choose who to ally with and who is available to choose is based on what your current alignment standings are.
-----
So, what does the alignment system affect in Trails through Daybreak? Well, the aforementioned ally in half of one chapter; based on your alignment levels at the time you will be given up to 4 choices and who you choose will decide what temporary support characters join you, the order in which subsequent chapter fights play out, and a small amount of dialogue before and after the final fight of that chapter. Other than that Van can get 3 Hollow Cores (Daybreak's Master Quartz), 1 for each alignment, and there are trophies and in-game achievements for maxing out each alignment. It should also be noted that your choices at any point in the game have no negative consequences whatsoever; you can never lose alignment and can only gain alignment.

Persona 5 Tactica just released and I'll be streaming it live all day over on Twitch! Come on over and hang out as I learn the game and potentially even break it!

Videos for P5T will of course be coming as I make progress, so be on the lookout for those. I am also currently cooking a tips video for Star Ocean The Second Story R and a video going over the changes coming to Yakuza 8!
PS: For those wondering why I'm not multi-streaming on YouTube, it's because my terrible internet can't handle it :(

Hey all, quick channel update.
I know it's been awhile since my last video; honestly, I don't like going this long without one. I put out a poll a few weeks ago about BG3 build videos and the majority who responded seemed interested so I began working on one to do as a test run. I have been struggling to nail down a format that I'm happy with for it, but the biggest obstacle has been my PC. Constant crashes and restarts have gotten in the way of scripting, recording and editing. I'm going to try and get the video out this week as best I can, but until I resolve my PC issues uploads may remain slow -- replacing parts and/or buying a new PC isn't really an option financially for me. So, apologies for the current and potentially future delays.
Shifting gears, Persona 5 Tactica and Persona 3 Reload are on the horizon. I plan to cover both games, but unlike with past games I've covered such as Persona 5 Royal and Persona 5 Strikers, I don't have early access to P5T and most likely won't for P3R either. What this means is that my content will not be ready for launch like it was for P5R and P5S, and will instead come in the weeks following each game's respective release.
Last thing, in addition to my first BG3 build video, I am also planning a video covering everything there is to know about the recently announced western release of Trails through Daybreak. I've already put hundreds of hours into the Japanese version and have the platinum trophy so there is a lot to talk about!
Anyways, hopefully I get my PC issues resolved sooner rather than later and can get back to more regular content.

Would you all be interested in build videos for Baldur's Gate 3?
My channel primarily focuses on Japanese games and JRPGs but I've played a lot of BG3 over the last month, and while I'm no expert on it or D&D, I could put out build videos going over what I did for my main character and companions.
Just wanted to gauge channel interest since BG3 is outside of my usual content coverage for YouTube.

Trails into Reverie PSA:
If you haven't played Reverie yet, or haven't had C's identity revealed, then in addition to avoiding official channels (NISA has already spoiled it multiple times), you will also want to avoid the VAs social media as C's VA spoiled it publicly as well. /sigh

Continuing from on from the confirmation that P3R and P5T would be coming to other platforms, Atlus also confirmed that Metaphor: ReFantazio (formerly Project Re Fantasy) will also be coming to PS4, PS5, and Steam.

Atlus has confirmed that Persona 3 Reload WILL be coming to PS4 and PS5. The same is also true for Persona 5 Tactica, except that P5T will also be available on Nintendo Switch.
This was basically a given, but the official confirmation should put those at ease who were still worried.
So available platforms for each game are as follows:
P3R - PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Game Pass, Steam, Windows
P5T - PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Game Pass, Steam, Windows, Switch

For all of you Kiseki fans looking forward to Trails into Reverie, be careful about watching NISA's latest gameplay trailer as they have once again spoiled the identity of C. Actually, since they've done it multiple times now, I would just avoid their trailers altogether!

Idun video should be coming in the next few days!
I wanted to get it out earlier, but between the holidays and the booster shot knocking me out I haven't been able to get it done. I'm also planning to do a build guide for a tank Belphagor that has worked wonders for me.
Look forward to them!
