From a village to investment banking to the streets to this beautiful life..
The backstory; 4 shows, 4 countries, 4 days.
It was incredibly disorientating. Like living in a washing machine. Playing for Norweigan royalty in one moment, 5 star everything, then playing the streets of a small town in Czech Republic the next day, then a lavish party in a big farmhouse in the Swedish countryside, direct onto a redeye flight to a royal palace in Russia for one of those things where I have to pretend to be posh...
Much of my last 10 years has been this. This wildly colourful adventure. I love it. But, much like that movie Green Book, I started to feel like an outsider. Experiencing so much motion, and so much life, at such high speed, continues to leave me a certain view of life. I've really seen how people live. From shanty towns in India to sheikh's compounds in the Middle East. And what's more, I've seen beyond the box that those people live in and call reality. I've seen so many boxes, that I've realised there doesn't have to be a box. You can make your own.
This trip provoked a lot of deep conversations. The recordings of those conversations combined with the moments of that hectic few days came together to make this.
