paradox is born… The first thing I knew about this album was its name. I have always had very extreme facets of Identity that can seem to be contradictory. Before I wrote the first note to this new album I felt this was also the case for my musical vision so I decided to let it all go and and embrace the paradox cause it can’t really be a paradox if it all feels so deeply like myself.

I wrote the lyrics to “swim” on a beach in India pretty much in one go. It was a full moon I woke up suddenly overcome with a deep sadness and used writing to get the feelings off my chest.
I wasn’t planning to rhyme or to write a song - it was just a stream of consciousness. Healing isn’t linear and “swim” addresses that both in terms of content and form. After all these years I‘m still so grateful to have art as a form of alchemy. Stringing together my vulnerability with an unusual mix of sound to create a song that makes me wanna dance and celebrate.
