I was gonna wrap up the GSG for my brother's car, but on second thought I want to keep it going. I told him about it yesterday and he was grateful, so thank you guys for helping. Let's get him to a thousand this month, yeah? I've got some ideas to help this along.

Update on my Five-Minute Silmarillion project:

--There are currently 4 installments live on my Substack (crackerstack.substack.com)
--I have 23 left to go, which will get me all the way through Akallabรชth and "Of the Rings of Power and the Third Age."
--I notched the pages in my beater copy so it's easier to toggle between chapters, check my notes, and so forth.
--Right now I am on page 47 of 366, not including the indices.
--I really really love what Tolkien has made so far.

I've reviewed a few of Lori's books here (The Carter Files, "Phoenix" and "Raven.")

If you're the praying type, this family could use it.

ROOK EXODUS #5--A very short book and yet an emotionally powerful turn. I'm a sucker for "fever dream in the wilderness" pieces, where characters undergo changes that they've resisted throughout their story. This one hearkens back to Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in places, and sets up a belter for issue 6.

Side note, issue 5 was supposed to come out last week but got bumped to yesterday, so I don't know if this will wrap in September or October. The other GM books (Geiger, Redcoat) will conclude this month so we'll see.

But not a single issue of ROOK EXODUS has been disappointing, except that they're too short. I would read twenty issues of this in one sitting if they were to be had. So freaking good.

New comic day. I got Rook Exodus 5, which was what I really wanted. I'm only torturing myself through Scarlett because I'm a completionist, but holy crap this is a bad run. Video coming tonight.

I'm gonna wrap up the GSG campaign for my brother's car this weekend, I'm not sure how else to drum up interest in it and it's kind of stalled out. Huge thanks to all of you who have donated.

You guys are awesome.

I'm gonna keep comic reviews on this channel, after the last poll.

Now: should I do a separate channel for movies?

Did you know that Grant was invited to Ford's Theater by Lincoln? He declined at his wife's request. Julia Grant couldn't stand Mary Todd Lincoln, and the Grants were leaving D.C. that week anyway, so under the pretense of wanting to get a head start, Grant avoided being in the target zone when John Wilkes Booth stepped in.

If memory serves, he was still on a list of targets for Booth and his co-conspirators to murder.

History changes on such fascinating hinges.
