It's about time I post an update on what's going on, since I basically haven't uploaded for months.
I decided to take a step back, because I feel like I'm really lacking some basic skills in making songs, and I just got trapped in the patterns I always use in the past few years, sacrificing creativity to just put something out there.
I want to try out different things, different styles, even go back and watch some tutorials to get some new ideas and to eventually be able to make more interesting and more creative songs - both remixes and originals. But this will take time.
I already have a rather massive library of songs - at this point I only want to upload songs I'm really happy with. Music that I can proudly show off. So I will be uploading songs at a MUCH slower pace.
The April Fools video was a first step, and I eventually want to turn Minimal Bogus into a full song, but there's still much I want to add and try out to make the song really interesting.
Thank you everyone for coming with me on this journey, and even if I will make myself much rarer in the future, you're welcome to keep accompanying me on the way to improve. I hope I'll someday be able to put something out there that will really be worth the wait!

Since it's (still barely) Mario day, I feel like I should share a Mario mix or two with you.

I do recommend the remaster on the album Best of DJ the S 2018 though, because it improves the song a little bit, especially the later parts.
And the other mix is Super Mario Super Star, a Super Mario All-Stars medley. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the mood for some classic NES/SNES era Mario tunes.

Time to share a song from the library again: technically it's actually two songs this time. Gears of a King and Tears of a King are variants with the same idea and very similar themes behind them. Both are medleys featuring the theme of kings in the widest sense.
I'm currently trying to turn the Dedede part into its own song, but while it definitely has potential, upgrading the sound and the mixing in general is proving more difficult than expected...

If you feel like there hasn't been enough Touhou in the latest mixes, you're probably right. But still, there are a lot of them to discover in those over 200 songs I made so far, and today I want to share one of them.
It's called "End of a New Beginning" and is a remix of Kanako's Theme, Suwa Foughten Field. If you haven't heard it yet, why not check it out - and if you have, why not listen to it again ;)

It will still take a bit to finish the first song for the year, but in the meantime you can of course check out all the other songs I made so far - that's around...uh...I don't even know, 200 or 300, maybe more? That's quite a lot...I guess I better suggest something. How about Broken Champ, a medley of mostly unrelated themes from 2018?

After a bit of rest and a bit of fine-tuning, the album Best of DJ the S 2022 is finally done, including all the songs from 2022 (except for the Disciple songs which got their own album of course). So far Dreamland Offensive got the biggest update, I re-added the squeak sounds and changed up the Dedede, Squeaks and Zero Two parts a bit: djthes.bandcamp.com/album/best-of-dj-the-s-2022
