Dead Air Revolution 2 English translation streams coming soon.

I was working with two other stalker players to translate a mod that I really wanted to try out. Dead Air revolution 2. It took nearly two weeks of a three way split effort of translating each and every piece of Russian text that we could find to make it playable for english audiences.

Once we're done with this round of bug testing we'll be releasing it to anyone who wants to play it.

Classes have started and I haven't been able to get out on many walks, so I don't have any new nature content to post right now. I do have loads of pictures and videos from the summer that I'll post over time still though.

For now - here's the thumbnail I'm messing around with in gimp for the battle cleric video.

I've never used gimp or photoshop before so I'm just trying it out.

You like?

Chanterelle season is almost over, by autumn they will be done sprouting from the ground.

Over the summer I’ve been lucky with finding trails and woods where I’ve been able to find a few species of chanterelle mushroom. They are a choice edible mushroom, characterized by their funnel-like appearance in older specimens, false gills on the underside of the mushroom which run about half way down the stem, and the white string-cheese like flesh on the inside.

I’ve used them in a mushroom sauce for beef stroganoff, as well as sautéed in butter and salt as a side.

*DON’T EAT WILD MUSHROOMS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING*

The mushrooms pictured in order are:

1. Golden chanterelle (Cantharellus cibarius)
2. Smooth chanterelle (Cantharellus lateritius)
3. Cinnabar or red chanterelle (Cantharellus cinnabarinus)

Turtle post from the archives of internship photos from the summer.

This first little guy was okay to pick up and handle to say hello. The first and second images are of an Ornate box turtle (Terrapene ornata). They have a unique feature of a crease on the bottom side of the shell, 3/4s of the way up towards the head. Once the turtle retracts into its shell, it can close this ‘hinge’ upwards to seal itself inside the shell safely.

The second fella, despite his friendly wink, is not safe to handle. The third, fourth, and fifth photos feature a common snapping turtle (Chelsea serpentina). They can extend their necks far past the entrance of their shell, so any handling of them should be avoided. They can bite with a force of 210 newtons, stronger than an alligator snapping turtle. They also have massive claws.
