Postponed due to Starlink 9-3 failure.

SpaceX conducted a static fire test which culminated in a brief engine firing of a Falcon 9 at SLC-40, Cape Canaveral SFS, at midnight on Thursday, July 25 as it works to resume flights of its workhorse rocket, which is grounded following the failure of the Starlink Group 9-3 mission. The burn of the nine Merlin engines of the Falcon 9 booster lasted about 10 seconds. The rocket that was tested will likely be the vehicle used for the return-to-flight mission.

30 Doradus B: NASA Telescopes Start the Year with a Double Bang

X-rays from Chandra have provided evidence for at least two explosions tied to the supernova remnant 30 Doradus B.

Typically, there is only one supernova associated with a supernova remnant.

30 Doradus B is found in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a small neighbor galaxy to the Milky Way.

A new image of 30 Doradus B contains X-rays, optical, and infrared data.

30 Doradus B is a supernova remnant located in a region of intense star formation in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way. It contains the remains of at least two exploded stars, one of which produced a pulsar and a pulsar wind nebula. Astronomers used data from NASAโ€™s Chandra X-ray Observatory, along with other telescopes, to study this complex object and its surroundings. They found that the X-ray shell of 30 Doradus B is too large to have resulted from a single supernova, and that multiple explosions must have occurred over time. This result helps us understand the lives and deaths of massive stars, and the effects of their supernova explosions.
