During Bandai Namco's latest earnings call, the publisher announced Tekken 8 could launch in 2023.

One investor, who asked Bandai Namco if the company had any games releasing in 2023 that provides a “new experience value” like Elden Ring received the response, “We are planning a large number of projects. Tekken 8 is also under development with the aim of launching in fiscal 2023 or later.”
The response indicates that Tekken 8 will release sometime after March 31, 2023.

The latest patch 5.01 is a little disappointing but okay. Akuma was barely touched. This also applies to Feng. Everything basically stays the same except for the tech roll that has been adjusted. More on that in the next stream. What is your opinion on patch 5.01?

Guys my new video is out!
This time it's about the future of fighting games and its monetization. Will Namco carry Tekken 7's success over to Tekken 8? Or will Riot Games eat up the other fighting games with PROJECT L? You know Riot is extremely successful with their games and the prize pools in tournaments are significantly higher than in Tekken. So I'm concerned if Tekken 8 will be as successful as Tekken 7 or if many players will switch to PROJECT L.
