Your fitness journey is not about anyone outside of yourself. Your journey should allow you to become the best version of yourself while learning to be disciplined and consistent and seeing the progress of grinding day in and day out. If you want to get the best results when you enter the gym you gotta leave your ego at the door. If not your going to do one of these to things if not both (get injured or limit your progress). It’s not about how many reps your buddy is doing or how much weight is my buddy lifting. When I step in the gym whether I’m with somebody or not it’s just me and the weights. If my sahabas slap on 225 and does 10 reps I’m happy for him and I encourage him if I think he can do more. But I know I can only hit that shit once or twice clean reps full range of motion. But that’s O.K Cause the only person I’m competing with is myself I wanna see myself get bigger and stronger and I don’t want to cheat my self out of progress trying to keep up with others. HALF REPS DONT stretch the muscles as much as full range of motion with proper technique nor does it recruit as many motor neurons. So while you may feel good about yourself for throwing up heavy weight for a lot of reps. You will continue to wonder why you are not progressing at the rate you desire. It’s because you are sacrificing technique to satisfy your ego! Which is causing you to remain stagnant and plateau. If you want to progress try lowering the weight do full clean reps prioritizing technique and I guarantee you will see way better results wether your goal is hypertrophy (muscle growth) or gains in strength and endurance.
