This is the 5th part of my ongoing Virpur - Gondal _Somnath Series where I visited least explored cave which is 4 kms away from Khoadal Dham (a very famous mandir near Virpur).To my surprise, it was not just the cave lying between thick jungle (we usually see) but a well maintained cave complex where there is cave, recreational area, untouched jungle and a small river stream flowing from the mountains.
This cave is built around 3rd or 4th Century CE, but it was discovered around 1950's. As this place is very sparsely populated and was hidden between the jungle at that time, so no one would have noticed this cave before 1950.
Gujarat has very less footprints in terms of Buddhism spreading here, but this cave is exceptional. There are carvings on the wall & locals also say that Buddhist monks used to meditate here during that time.
It has preserved quite well and one must visit this cave complex, if you ever visit Virpur or Gondal by any chance.

Hi Guys, its Ashish Mistry born & brought up & currently living in Mumbai, India.
Got inspired by the world, I always wanted to travel and explore the places but never got to do so till my teenage. But I have started exploring places and came to know that planned travel and making planned travel videos can give u a cinematic experience but it sometimes forgot to touch the places as to why it is important.
I don't plan & travel, but travel and shoot whatever comes into my travel journey be it the beautiful view from the train, festivals, chaotic places, places with important structures, be it anything, I shot everything.
