Hi everyone - just wanted to let you know that my new "live" solo Chapman Stick album is now available on streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify in addition to Bandcamp.
I opened for the Adrian Belew Power Trio on November 2, 2014, and this is a rehearsal recording of the full set before the show. The album represents the culmination of over 100 live Stick performances between 2008 and 2015 - it was my last recording before going on a musical hiatus for a while, and I think it’s the best complete performance I was able to capture in my first 10 years playing solo music on the Stick.
These progressive rock inspired pieces continued to evolve in the years following my One Cloud album release in 2010, and I think became more compelling and polished by the time this set was recorded. It also features a few arrangements of songs by Jethro Tull, Gentle Giant, and Ralph Vaughan Williams. Chapman Stick veteran Greg Howard assisted with production and provided the mastering, and I’m quite happy with the way it came out!
