Just last week, I made a video about how the Yen has reached an all-time low against the dollar at 155. Now just today, the yen has crossed over to a staggeringly new low. Not only that, but it appears the brakes have come off and the Yen is quickly getting worse. The Bank Of Japan will have a meeting today to announce their plans for the Yen, but I can't imagine how much influence they can have over it at this point. And while this is a good thing for tourists, as the saying goes, "it is possible to have too much of a good thing." Meaning, this could be an underlying sign of something bad to come.
I will hold a quick live session this weekend to catch up with old live viewers as well as discuss what this could mean for both tourists and Japan in the future.

Harblife has officially added it's newest member to the family!
For anyone wondering why I've been quiet on the channel the past few weeks, well it's because I've been taking care of some big life updates! Only a couple weeks ago, I proposed to Mathilde (the girl you always see in the videos) and she said YES! I couldn't be any happier and we are now planning the next steps in our lives! As a little bonus, you might see a little snippet of the big event in an upcoming video, so you have that to look forward to! 😉
As for channel content, I will have a new video releasing this weekend so you can learn of even more places to plan for your exciting Japan trip!

New video dropping VERY SOON that will address a VERY IMPORTANT JAPAN Issue!
I have been spending the past couple of weeks thinking about how I would present this ongoing issue I have begun to notice since I started my channel. Japan has been experiencing an overcrowding issue as tourists come flooding back in, and I think I know the reason why! Check out this video as it covers a very important social media issue that doesn't just affect Japan, but the entire tourism industry!

BIG NEWS TLDR: First of (hopefully) many opportunities with Japan's Tourism Agencies promoting Japan's local towns and some BIG equipment upgrades to improve the channel's future videos! PLUS livestream this Sunday (Japan Time)/ Saturday (USA Time), so be ready for that!
I have some significant updates for you all! First, I have been spending a lot of time thinking about what will be in my next video, which is very different from the usual format. For that reason, I am postponing the video until next week. But there is also another reason the next video has been delayed (pic below for context).
This weekend, I am participating in my first major collaboration with one of Japan's Tourism agencies!! I will go to Fujinomiya, a local town near the base of Mt. Fuji, to make a future video promoting this town! I have received DOZENS of sponsor opportunities but have turned them all down because I want to make sure they align with what I think you ACTUALLY want to see. With my recent videos about over-tourism, this is a perfect opportunity to help promote some less-traveled cities and locations to check out on your next trip to Japan! I hope you enjoy this video when I finally come out with it!
Finally, I have recently made some BIG purchases for the channel. I bought a new gimbal to help give more stable shots and a new lens to help future shots look much sharper. 110 Mile (177Km) Hawaii Century Bike Ride COMPLETE! Up Next : Japan Century Ride!
A couple weeks ago, I finished my time in Hawaii by doing a bike ride around the ENTIRE island of Oahu! This loop around Oahu ended up being a MONSTROUS 110 Mile (177 Km) Bike ride, which we refer to as a "century ride". It truly was an amazing experience and I can't wait to do it again in Japan! Who knows, maybe I can even try and tag along @AbroadinJapan's & @CDawgVA's next "Bike Across Japan" or invite them for a century ride lol!
Anyways, now that I am back, expect more videos from me at my usual weekly pace, with one being released in an hour!

I've got quite alot to unpack here, so bear with me:
If any of you have been wondering why I have not done a live stream recently, it's because I am currently in Hawaii for work! And while I have been very busy with work, I have been able to meet some great subscribers out here who are native to Hawaii! Jared and his family were amazing and gave me a great tour around the Island of Oahu -- thanks a ton Jared!
But don't worry, just because I have been away on work doesn't mean I've slacked off with videos, because I have a new video dropping in a few hours addressing the continuing drama that is the Japan Rail company and all their travel options taking a turn for the worse! Be sure to check that video out, as I have a few new solutions in there I haven't mentioned before!
With my work wrapping up this weekend, I will do my best to do at least ONE LIVESTREAM in Hawaii so everyone can see it for themselves and maybe enjoy the sunset with me! Stand by for more details on that!
P.S. It is very tragic what happened on Maui and my thoughts go out to everyone affected. I have felt the energy shift in the past few days as everyone here reflects on the terrible wild fires that claimed one too many lives over in Maui. I hope its community can come back from this stronger than before and eventually rebuild the island back to its former glory.
