Cuban pianist, composer, and arranger Chucho Valdés is a pivotal figure in Afro-Cuban jazz, with a career spanning over 60 years. He has fused Afro-Cuban traditions, jazz, classical music, and rock into a unique style, earning seven GRAMMY® and six Latin GRAMMY® Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award. Valdés founded the iconic band Irakere, revolutionizing Latin jazz with its bold fusion of genres. His recent works include "La Creación," a three-movement suite exploring Afro-Cuban religion, and "I Missed You Too," a reunion album with Paquito D'Rivera.
