Procrastinate much?
Have you been putting off an important project? Maybe one like starting a new fitness plan or endeavour?
We all do it… but why?
Everybody knows about flight or fight. Right?
Well did you know that it would be more accurate to think of it as fight, flight or FREEZE?
If we’re faced with something we see as a potential threat we instinctively feel the urge to fight or flee but actually the most common response is to freeze!
This is because freezing takes a whole lot less energy and for that reason it’s an instinctive response that stayed with us through evolution!
So the question is… is the thing you’re really putting off a threat? Maybe it is in some way.
Maybe you fear failure and the perceived social repercussions that comes with it.
I think it’s important to understand what it is you actually fear. What is it holding you back?
Once you understand that hopefully you can tame your reptilian brain, whose job it is the keep you alive, and instead engage your rational brain to get started on what you really want to achieve 💪🏼
