How I'd Make TWolves a Possible Dynasty

TRADE: Gobert for Memphis' Jaren Jackson Jr. (exchange picks as needed)

Jaren is 24 whereas Gobert is 31, & Jaren cost ~24m$ a year for the next 2 yrs, whereas Gobert cost ~45m$ a year

We're trying to make the team as young as possible so the oldest player we'll keep for the "dynasty" is KAT (28).

That means we'll let Conley, Morris, Anderson, McLaughlin & Warren walk in free agency to open up cap space to sign a young PG in free agency.

We won't have enough cap space to get Maxey in free agency for 35m$ (2024's 1st curtain is 177m$), but Quickley is within our cap space.

SIGN: Quickley for 22m/4yr

The "dynasty" roster would then be:

PG Quickley (24)
SG Ant (22)
SF McDaniels (23)
PF Jaren (24)
C KAT (28)
Bench: Reid, Miller, Nickiel, Garza, Moore, Nix, Minnot & 3 more

Assuming the bench develops, specifically Miller, this team's championship window is as long as before KAT regresses

My Plan for Warriors to Win Ring in 2025-26: Get LeBron, Bronny & Jackson Jr.: Delusional, but possible

The following are offseason of that year so 2024 is offseason of 2023-24

2024:

Let Saric walk & Klay too since he wants too much money

Pick 52: Draft Bronny to ride the bench, not to go to G League or else someone else might draft him out of G League in 2025 & get Bron instead of us

Pickup GP2's 2024-25 contract then trade him & Wiggins for Mavs' 2025 1st

For us, Wiggins is too expensive & keeping GP2 isn't mandatory
Wiggins if he has a comeback yr would fix Mavs' biggest weakness, SF
GP2 benefits any contender for his ability to lockup stars in the playoffs

Trade CP3 & Looney for Celtic's 2025 1st & 2027 1st

Celtics would love to have CP3 for reasons explained in previous post & they'd want center Looney since center Horford is old, 37, but Looney is 28
We won't be able to resign Kuminga, bring in Bron & in the 2025 offseason, if we intend to keep CP3

2025:

For the 2024-25 szn the roster would be weak, the only players above 25 would be Draymond & Curry. GSW would do poorly & in turn their 2025 1st would be early. Hopefully early enough to draft 19 yr old Maluach who'd be their 1st unicorn since KD & only 7ft+ player. Unlike for some of my post, I'm actually a GSW fan myself, so I care a lot about a future beyond the 2025-26 szn plan this post focuses on, & that's why I'd draft a project like Maluach instead of a polished Klay replacement.

Extend Kuminga for 23m/5yr - based on Wiggins deal

Extend Moody for 6m/5yr - based on current deal

Sign LeBron 52m/3yr (his agent publicly wants 3 yrs) - based on current deal

Trade 2026 1st, Mavs' 2025 1st & Celtics' 2025 1st for Memphis' Jackson Jr. (who'll take only 24m in cap in 2025-26)

Championship year the team would be crazy on defense:
G Curry, G LeBron, F Kuminga, F Draymond, C Jackson Jr.
Off the Bench: G Podz, C TJD, G Moody, C Maluach, G Bronny etc.

The money will work if 200m$ is less than my projected 2nd apron in 2025-26 & 4 of our players' salaries don't go to the cap as is the case in real life

Future roster:

Even after Curry, Draymond & LeBron ride into the sunset the team wouldn't suck. For example, between 2027 & 2029 they'd have three 1st round picks & the following players, without even including who we'd draft.

G Podz, G Moody, F Kuminga, F Jackson Jr., C TJD
Off the bench: C Maluach, G Bronny etc.

What I'd do as Mavs GM

Need:

SF whose tall for defensive perimeter reasons, 3rd scoring option/ball handler, rebounder, consistent 3p shooter, player who can pick & roll

TRADE:

Kleber, Exum, OMax, THJ & unprotected 2025 1st for Kuzma

Kuzma's fit:

At 6'9, SF Kuzma can pick & roll, ball handle & ~averages 22ppg, 7rpg & 4apg so he meets the needs. The only need he doesn't meet at a glance is a consistent 3p shooter, but Kuzma's 35 3p% would improve since he'd be the 3rd not 1st scoring option in Dallas.

Trade logic:

Kuzma is valued at two 1st & declined to go to the Mavs earlier on this year, but now as we speak Dallas is where anyone on a loosing team would like to be, since the Mavs are finals bound leading OKC 2-1. Also a 1st & those Mavs players together are worth two 1st (Kuzma's value) or more since OMax is 21 so he'll fit Washingtons young team, meanwhile the other players just aren't needed in Dallas.

Which 1st round picks the Mavs can send away is confusing, but based on my interpretation of the Stepien rule this trade should be okay. I made the pick unprotected so that it's more valuable, but I highly doubt the Mavs will be bad in 2025.

Why some unneeded players aren't in the trade:

They're either free agents after this season, hold no trade value or Cuban said he wouldn't trade them (which is the case for Green & Hardy).

What I'd do As 49ers GM (DAY 3 PART 2)

What I'm looking for:

Edge, C, TE, RT, DT

124. C McCormick - I've written about McCormick previously, NFL analyst Lance Zierlein would take C Van Pran Granger here instead, but McCormick's elite athleticism for a center is objective & his leadership (3yr team capt.), physicality & competitiveness are 49ers traits. In year 1 he'd hopefully takeover from Brendel at C or have to takeover at RG if rookie Puni can't get stronger & Burford doesn't breakout.

135. DT Wingo - The best DT left in the draft, he's undersized, but blends athleticism with strength & will develop behind Collins. DTs Collins & Hargrave are old, but in the teams future Lovett Sr. can balance out Wingo's weaknesses & vise versa on the interior.

173. S Oladapo - His toughness, physicality at 6'2 216, & comparison to former 49ers safety Tartt make him a fit. 3rd string S Odum is 30 & starting S Hufanga tore his ACL last year & both need new contracts on a cap limited team in 2025. Analyst see Oladapo developing into a starter who could replace them (& Hawkins moves up to 3rd string safety).

176. RT Foster - Spoken of in other post, despite the draft spot he's expected to actually challenge RT McKivitz

215. DT Lovett Sr. - Boyd won't be free here, but unlike Boyd, Lovett Sr. can split double teams & has a higher grade from Lance Zierlein. He can help stop the run on Day 1 & has the toughness & competitive team spirit the 49ers want.

251. Any good blocking TE

What I'd do As 49ers GM (DAY 3 PART 1)

TRADE

RG Feliciano, RB Mitchell, 2025 4th to Giants for pick 107

Giants desperately need a young RB to rotate alongside Singletary. Mitchell, age 25, rushed for 1000 yards his rookie year, but hasn't seen use behind CMC since. The Giants could take a swing on reinvigorating him.

Feliciano although age 32 has an 80 PFF grade & played great vs. the Giants. He would make QB Jones a bit better

In SF, now with Feliciano gone, RG Burford would get a chance to breakout as a starter while Puni his rookie backup gets stronger & if Burford did breakout Puni could takeover at center, but if he didn't Puni would takeover at RG & we'd likely have to instead of playing Puni at center & Burford at RG, play ____ at center (assuming Brendel sucks)

From an optimistic 49ers prospective it's sending an unused RB & a vet who's taking reps from youngsters away to move up not only a year (2024 v 2025), but also ~20 picks since the 49ers have later 4th rounder pick slots than the Giants since they're better (duh).

DRAFT

107. Edge Booker - For those who aren't familiar with how to interpret physicals/combine for non-WRs, I'll compare him to 1st round WRs from 2023-24. He has arms longer than WR Odunze (34" v 32"), a 10 yard split close to WR JSN (1.67 v 1.65) & is taller than WR MHJ. Yes, these are real stats, those intangibles paired with his agility are why he has crazy upside despite having one of the lowest snap counts (505) in the whole draft. Once he puts the needed muscle on, which his frame can 100% handle, & he improves inside against downhill runs, he could be Bosa's long term pairing at Edge!

124. Maybe S Vaki - Steal?

132. C McCormick - Spoken of in other post

173.

176. RT Foster - Why he's picked at 176 on some list and 107 on others I don't know, but what I do know is he's the best OT left in the draft for the 49ers either way, specifically for his zone scheme ability. If he improves his footwork while backing up McKivitz, he could take the starting role & solve the RT position by 2025.

215. DT Boyd - Steal

251.

What I'd do for rest of draft after day 1 (49ers)

Part 3

63. RT Rosengarten - not a big steal like the others in this post but a scheme fit

Trade pick 94 & 2025 3rd for Falcons' 74. With how dumb the Falcons have been (reaching on Penix) I think they'd accept & with them already taking Orhororo I doubt they'd want Austin Booker. I don't like giving away future pick, but as a write the 49ers still have their 2025 1st since they didn't trade up for McKinstry.

74. Edge Booker - Scheme fit for 49ers could develop in 2025 & hopefully become Bosa's opposite edge threat in 2026 after DE Leonard walks

132. C McCormick - Spoke of in other post already (SIOPA)

135. RG Zinter - SIOPA

What I'd do for rest of draft after day 1 (49ers)

Part 2 of post

WR Room Assumptions:

Because the 49ers took Pearsall at pick 31 I assume they think it's unlikely Aiyuk resigns after year 5 of his rookie contract (2025).

Additionally resigning Deebo in 2025 is unlikely, like Aiyuk, for cap reasons.

Lastly, WR Jennings will also likely not be resigned in 2025 since Bell will be on the 3rd year of his cheap rookie deal & could play WR3 rather than resigning the more expensive Jennings

How I'd address WR room:

Shanahan's offensive players take time to develop so we'll address 2025 WR issues in 2024

No WR in the draft still or on the 49ers right now except Aiyuk do I want at WR1 weeks 1-8 so I'd trade Deebo & if I trade Aiyuk it'd be for 2025 picks during Wk8 & only if Pearsall develops into a Super Bowl WR1

Trade: WR Deebo, RB Mitchell, OL Moore, WR Gray to Bills for WR Shakir, 2025 1st

Shakir does two things well that are a rare combination with WR's left in the draft & a weakness of Pearsall (meaning Shakir would compliment Pearsall). He beats press well & also wins contested catches at the highest rate in NFL. He'd breakout in 2024 as WR2, fit in in SF because of his physicality, YAC & intensity & lastly do Deebo's "RB" role.

What I'd do for rest of draft after day 1 (49ers)

Part 1 of post

send 2025 1st to Texans for pick 42

Draft McKinstry

49ers are his best fit & he has CB1 potential which could shine in 2025 if Ward & Lenoir walk
The reason he fell was possibly a risk for his bones after the Jones foot fracture not reunioning, but its said now he'll be 100% fine by Week 1

WHAT ID DO AS 49ERS GM IF AIYUK WON'T RESIGN
