Hello, everyone! I will be officially deciding the winners of the giveaway later today and announcing them tomorrow. In the meantime, I will still accept entries up until the moment I get on to read all of them.

I apologize for the delay with the announcement, and in advance to the to be winners as shipping will be delayed, too. I've had a lot going on in my personal life this past month and am having a difficult time. No need to worry, though.

I have a fun game for you guys. What is this? If anyone guesses correctly, I'll be shocked. Hint: It is NOT a fire alarm device.

Hey, guys. First post (status update wise) of the year. As you might have seen, I've let my Facebook and Instagram accounts go quiet for a few months. This year, I'll be trying to post more, but also make sure more of what I put on FB and IG also is on a YT status update (if I feel it's important enough) and vise versa.

On to the post. So a pretty neat little story. One of my coworkers who started driving for us late last year just retired from the fire alarm industry. When he had mentioned this to me, I brought up my fire alarm hobby. I showed him a couple of my videos. Not only did he offer me some resources to get involved in the field, but also said he had some parts sitting in his garage he would look for to give to me. Last week, he brought me a bag with the device shown below brand new in the box. He said he has more stuff somewhere and he'll look for it.

This device is actually two devices in one, and they came in separate boxes. If any of you can correctly guess what they are (makes and models), you'll get a shout out when I film Floor System Test 45 tomorrow, where I'll tell about these alarms and test them.

The basement has been a little more cleared out, and I now have easy access to the systems once again!

Powered both the 4005 and 4010 up today after a few months and tested to make sure they are still working well, which they are. Changed some things around, and hopefully I can have a new video out next weekend!

More cracks in the foundation of our house have been sealed, so all of our bins and boxes were moved back to the laundry room, now that we shouldn't have anymore water coming in. A little more cleanup and organization in the basement living area and I should have easy access to the fire alarm system once again pretty soon!

Hey, everybody. Hope you are all doing well. As you all know, we have about 10 days until November, and then two months of the year left. Crazy how time flies.

I'm sorry; I know that, once again, I have sucked at uploading this year for multiple reasons. A big reason is that I was having endless computer problems. The HP Pavilion p6774y I was running was having an ongoing issue with losing monitor output while I was in the middle of using it. I added a video card to replace the on-board graphics unit, which I thought had failed, had it in and out of a couple local repair stores a total of 5 times, and put about $200 into it before finally finding out the motherboard was toast. With this experience, and the experience I'm having with another HP Pavilion desktop, I've decided I'm done with buying anything else HP. I still have my HP dv7 laptop, which is working pretty well, but it is not ideal for editing, storing, and uploading YouTube videos.

I drove to Chicago last weekend and picked up a used Dell Optiplex 3010 tower. It has Windows 10, a 1 terabyte hard drive, 8 gigabytes of RAM, an an Intel Pentium processor. The guy at the new computer shop I took it to got all my data transferred over from the old hard drive, which is still perfectly good, and he also transferred my video card from the old computer, which makes it slightly faster. I'm all back up and running here with a good-working computer.

The fire alarm systems have been sitting the way they were since the last system test, with a lot of crap in front of them. Earlier in the year, we continued experiencing water coming into the basement laundry room, so everything we were storing in there had to come out to the living area. We're waiting for someone to come check it out, but no fire alarm videos until that is fixed and everything can be moved back. Hopefully soon. Haven't been filming a lot of elevators lately. Will try to still do so periodically as often as I can, but it won't be as often as it once was due to lack of time, and, unfortunately, interest. Haven't railfanned at all, either. Need to get going on that again. Hopefully I'll work plenty and save plenty this school year so I can take some time off of work during summer next year to do all this stuff.

With the new computer and camera, I'm hoping to get going again soon. I'll try my best, but no promises. Thanks for hanging in there, guys. I know some of you miss my videos a lot. It's hard to keep this thing going while working full-time during the weekdays and using my weekends to catch up on sleep and chores. It was so easy during high school, especially during summer vacation.
