Hi friends, this week's lesson was really fun for me to film. I walked around and found items in my house to help explain natural English phrases to you. My favorite part about teaching online is that it feels more casual. I feel like I'm teaching a friend English instead of teaching in such a formal classroom. Let me know what you think about this lesson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Vg8g...
And as always if you are looking to improve your conversational English with more natural phrases, check out my Upgrade to Native Conversation course here. There are over 200 new phrases that you can learn with my six-week course englishwithkayla.teachable.com/p/upgrade-to-nativeā¦

I did some traveling to Duluth, Minnesota this weekend. It even snowed there (already)! Here is their famous "lift" bridge. It raises when boats have to pass through the canal.
I like to travel, but I don't like flying or spending tons of money on hotels. So this weekend's quick road trip was perfect for me.
Where do you like to "road trip", or drive to, for a quick vacation?
One of the weeks in my Upgrade to Native English course is about travel vocabulary. You can purchase the course at englishwithkayla.teachable.com/p/upgrade-to-nativeā¦
The course includes six weeks of prerecorded vocabulary lectures, PDF guides, listening exercises, and professional conversations to practice speaking with.

This week's English lesson is meant to give you a sense of how classroom English differs from the actual English you'll hear in a conversation with a native English speaker.
Classroom English: Have you ever been confused by an idiom or slang word in the English language?
Natural English: Has an idiom or slang phrase in English ever "thrown you off"?
