After a long two weeks of taking a break from uploading content, we have decided to put The Extraneous Zone YouTube channel on hiatus.
It's been a wonderful four and a half years, however the channel has had an identity issue since day 1. Rather than trying to change the content once again, we're going to put the channel on hold for a while. I've really enjoyed making Cheap Weekly Thrills and getting to know many indie developers, but that combined with random gameplays and Pokémon videos has severely shunted the channel's growth and viewage due to a lack in consistency of content.
The Extraneous Zone was originally created to be a fun loving channel featuring a rotating cast of personalities, however as time went on more and more people backed out (and me moving the company to River Falls away from everyone definitely did not help). The channel and the content was never meant to really be about me but about our awesome friends and family, and you guys as well, the community. That all being said doesn't mean that we won't ever upload again (as there is a five hour long Civilization V session with myself and Eric that has been recorded), but we won't be doing daily/weekly videos any longer. We'll make sure to let you all know when there's a new episode coming out.
In the meantime, I will be uploading sim racing/racing game content on my brand new personal YouTube channel (Matt[51]Westby) on Fridays at 2pm CDT, so make sure to check that out.
Thank you everyone for watching our content, I can never thank you enough for dedicating your time to see what we've been up to. And stay tuned for any future announcements, hopefully we won't be away for long :)
