We just released a new book and are thankful for great responses. Bird Photography in Iceland—Our 40 Favorite Locations was written as a practical guide for bird photographers traveling to Iceland. In this e-book, we share 40 of our favorite locations and cover each area’s accessibility and avifauna, spilling our guts and secrets. We do our best to recommend only places that have proven worthwhile for our bird photography. Those who know our work know we have been active in bird photography for two decades. Our career started with birds, and landscapes followed.

A volcanic eruption started today very close to the town of Grindavík in Iceland. Here are a few webcams where it is possible to see how the eruption evolves. The main news channels in Iceland are covering the event live. www.ruv.is - www.mbl.is and www.visir.is have live webcams https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvcP4...

We just released the first episode of Arctic Fox Encounters. This is a compilation of some of our meetings with Arctic Foxes in 2014 and 2018. The cameras we used at the time were not exactly video-friendly, but we did our best to capture footage.

Volcanic eruption again! Guess where we are heading... ;) The eruption is near Fagradalsfjall like last time... We are hoping to be able to hike into the area.

The summer here in Iceland is short. Too short to spend on editing videos. These days we are busy photographing, both landscapes and wildlife. We have new gear - both drones and new cameras, so there is a lot to learn and take in these days. If we get a rainy day or find time to edit videos we will publish them. Until then we will post short videos or stories on Instagram while we are traveling. Have a nice summer!

It took time, but we just finished the eBook version of Photographing Iceland - A Photo Guide to 100 locations. We designed it to be as practical as possible. It looks great on phones, tablets and big displays. Check out the demo on www.ggart.is

Would you be interested in an eBOOK version of our book: Photographing Iceland - A Photo Guide to 100 locations? The printed version is 352 pages and with an eBOOK version (reflowable ePUB), it would be possible to read about the locations on the phone, even while traveling in Iceland, and use the interactive maps.

A new video is out. This time we use our floating hides for bird photography on one of the warmest days last summer.

Our YouTube channel ‪@GudmannAndGyda‬ is really taking off. We are really thankful for all the new subscribers and the views our videos are getting. We are now up to 7.296 subscribers and counting. A few years ago it would have been hard to imagine that we would dive into YouTube, but this has been an awesome learning curve. Our latest video about Grímsey is reaching 30.000 views and today we launch a video about photo composition and working the scene at the little known Gatanöf rock near Húsavík.
