Mat Pilates strengthens and lengthens muscles, increases flexibility, and improves posture and balance. The exercise focuses on your core (trunk) muscles while training your arms and legs. You only need a comfortable place to practice Pilates (such as a mat). Water is recommended to have nearby to keep hydrated. Pilates can be done almost anywhere by practically anyone with any fitness background. No equipment is needed.
