in the future - u will be able to do some more stuff here,,,!! like pat catgirl- i mean um yeah... for now u can only see others's posts :c
Coming up in April on the channel.
I have a question for you first:
What defines an epic animated movie for you?
And could you drop some names of features you consider epic?
Im really scouring the world to try and find more than the small pool I can think of.
Now onto this month:
Just to address the Colonel Hathi in the room, I have just finished the Jungle Book video, so rather than dropping it this week, l'll release it next Monday. That also means the other video essay I have scheduled for this month will be knocked to the end of the month, so it's two videos this month!
On top of that, there's two Animator Breakfast interviews as well. The first I already launched today, with the incredible Andrew Chesworth. His work is so inspiring, if you haven't checked out his channel I highly recommend it.
The second will be with Eric Towner, one of the co- founders of Stoopid Buddy studios, famous for Robot Chicken. That was such a fun conversation, something I'm very excited to share with you all!
I hope you enjoy this month’s discussions!

Update:
Hi guys,
I was supposed to release my Jungle Book video Essay today, but I just wanted one more week to really clean it up and give it the love it deserves, because I really love that movie!
It’s about Character based storytelling, so I’ve moved the release to 29th instead. I hope that’s okay.
My podcast date for next week hasn’t changed, they’re completed ahead of time so I can still get that out, but the video essays I really like to refine.
Thank you for your patience everyone! It’s only a few days more!
Thanks,
Cole

This March on the channel!
I get to talk about one of the most influential films in my life, The Jungle Book (1967).
It's full of rich characters and represented a new approach to story telling in Disney Animation. It was the last Disney animated film to have Walt's direct influence and I'm really looking forward to sharing the story with you all.
On Animator's Breakfast I have two very cool conversations, one with veteran animator Tom Bancroft about the incredible Glen Keane. The other, I'm joined by Dreamworks co-director Colin Jack, as he discusses the impact Fantastic Mr. Fox has on his approach to storytelling.
Starting in April I'll be able to start looking at the suggestions you've sent in about certain creators, I've been digging into those and it looks like a few very strong contenders!
Thanks again everyone!

Coming up this February on the Channel!
I have some really cool conversations with Tomm Moore and Chris Williams about drawing and storyboarding. Foundational skills for anyone looking to enter animation, from two legendary professionals! They're slightly different to standard Animato's Breakfast episodes, but conversations so interesting I had to share them!
Also, my thoughts on Miyazaki's divisive The Boy and the Heron. I had so many thoughts and emotions but I wanted to narrow in on the message I got from the film and what many people seem to be missing.
Also congratulations to the Winner of the Prize Draw: DeepBlueInk! It was a real surprise when I drew his name out of the digital hat. Go check out his channel if you haven't subscribed already:

Thanks again everyone!
P.S. Don't forget to let me know what creators you'd like to hear from or topics you'd like discussed!

Hey Everyone,
Here's what's coming up this month on the channel. I'm going to do this every month going forward so you can all see what's releasing in advance.
You probably noticed an increased upload consistency which have been episodes of Animator's Breakfast. Coming into 2024 I wanted to start the year running and really share meaningful conversations about the animated work that inspires the people who inspire me. As well as that, I've been listening to your feedback and I can see you all want more Video Essays. Well, so do I.
So this is my commitment to you all:
1. Release a new Video Essay every month
2. Continue releasing 2 episodes of Animator's Breakfast every month
3. Raise the quality every video and reach out to the creators you want to hear from.
In order to really succeed, I need you help. Please let me know what topics you'd like to see explored or who you'd like to appear on the podcast.
Get ready, it's going to be a busy year and thank you all for your continued support!

I just want to say, when I woke up this morning and checked out YouTube, I was humbled and honoured that this channel crossed 70k subscribers. For something that started out as a channel in my bedroom to hopefully explain the passion and love I have for animation, to where we are now, wow. If it all crumbled and this is the closest to the sun we get, I’m very proud and gratified. Thank you to everyone who subscribed and supports Any-mation. I read all your comments, they mean the world to me. You have my deepest, deepest thanks!
