A Sunny Weekend in February 2024
The sunny weather yesterday reminded me of last year at this time, out in the back yard in the afternoon with Mimi and Mr. Sunshine, so I thought I'd share this video on this sloppy winter day.
Mimi and Mr. Sunshine's adventures on a sunny and warming first weekend in February. Mimi decided she had to get her scent back on her chairs with vigorous face rubs, Mr. Sunshine let his mom know there was something really cool in the woodpile, Mimi rubs on the garden chair, then I try to race Mr. Sunshine back to the house and he outruns my sorry butt as I trip and fall over a stick, and he and Mimi meet in a sunny spot to enjoy the warmth and spy on the squirrel.
We would lose Mr. Sunshine about four weeks later, but despite his splenic mass, other small cancers and ailments, he looked great and enjoyed every moment even to the day before he died. He and Mimi were inseparable during this time and I could feel how happy they were. After we lost Mr. Sunshine Mimi was never as active again. It's just so good to remember them both and memories I'll never forget.
