I think it's worth knowing, that facial aging is not a single event, nor something that happens at a consistent rate. First signs of aging develop in our 20's, then progress till menopause, when the female face undergoes rapid changes, due to general shift in hormones and metabolism related to menopause. My main interest is how to maintain a healthy, fit and youthful looking face in the 30 till ~50 age range. I don't really research beyond that age bracket at this point (this may change in the future, as I myself get older :)). Decades of robust marketing for skincare products made us collectively convinced all signs of aging are due to skin quality loss, when in fact, all tissues of the face age - muscles, fat, connective tissues (septums and ligaments), blood and lymph vessels, even the bones.
