When I was 6 years old, I had the pleasure of visiting where my uncle grew up in Mexico. It wasn't a part any American tourist would find themselves for vacation; it was a more poor area where we started fires for a warm shower, washed clothes on a washboard, and slept in mattresses atop cinderblocks. It was a very humbling and rich experience. I remember crying when we crossed the boarder because I was so hungry. The patrol asked what was wrong with me and immediately pointed us in the direction of food. I also used to suffer bad nosebleeds as a kid, and it was beautiful how many random people would offer advice and help when it looked like we needed it. Everyone was kind. There was community. I remember stalls and shops in the town with people selling homemade crafts and food on the streets. It was really cool.
Back home in the states, to my memory, we attended family get-togethers semi regularly with his side of the family there. Huge steaming meals, kids running around outside and inside and back out.
I could not have imagined what would come in 20 years to so many great people.
What I am trying to say is:
Immigrants make America great.
Immigrants make America great.
Immigrants make America great.
Immigrants make America.

โจ Last year in Jenny's glorious home studio wearing her wardrobe and props. This session really helped inspire me as to what I could accomplish in my own home studio. This was also my very first, and for now, only, time visiting this far northeast. I'm itching to go back and connect with more incredible artists. But maybe when it's a bit warmer. This Georgia native gets cold easily.

Direct those emotions into meaningful change, support, and art. Be loud and take up space. Be what you want to see. Move where you want to see movement.
Thanks so much to everyone that came out to support independent, femme-fronted music this past Saturday. Can't wait to tickle your ears again soon. And friendly reminder that it's very punk rock to care about politics.

๐๐จ๏ธ1st photoshoot of 2025, appropriately documenting the rare snowfall in the south. I waited a bit too long to attempt these, so it was mostly wet mush and sleet instead of the fluffy clouds we all like. Regardless, not a bad way to kick off the year.
