What’s the biggest challenge you face in getting more sales?
I’ve probably asked this a handful of times but I’m back with the same question again. I genuinely want to know, what you’re struggling with, if at all.
I’m not saying I know the perfect answer or have a magic pill, but there aren’t many people in this world who have lost as much sleep as I have over the last ten years, brainstorming, testing, grinding, and looking for solutions to the problems that makers like us face when it comes to building a business.
Let me know and I want to focus some of the upcoming videos on (actually) helping you get more sales

⚡️SAVE THIS POST⚡️ and come back to it later when you’re feeling stuck and can’t come up with fresh ideas. It’s not about trying to go viral, it’s about connecting with your audience. Especially as a craftsman, you don’t need explosive growth, you need trust. And BTW, some of these ideas are kind of, “duh”. But it can reeeally help to have something to look at to spark ideas and inspiration. Let me know if you have other ideas to add to this list 💪🏼

Filmed a new video today about making a SIMPLE belt that I’m really excited about. Based on the results from my last post, I decided to first make a video about a simple one that beginners could try out with minimal tools. But I’ll be filming another one ASAP that is a little more advanced with stitching, edge work, etc…
In this video I go deep in:
- sizing
- tools
- rivets
…and more. Sit tight, I’ll be editing it tomorrow, should be posted by Wednesday!

I know it’s super annoying when we upload shorts, because it notifies you as if it’s a full video (fix it YouTube, y’know?)
Anyway I appreciate your patience. I hope they separate it in the future as a separate app or something. I don’t want to upload it to a separate channel so it might get a little annoying but just know, the shorts don’t take place of the full length videos. We’re just squeezing them in between.
Filming a new video leather review video today, and lots of fun projects in the works. Can’t wait to show you. Love you all🙌🏼

Just got a fun delivery! Sailrite is doing great things. They’re designing a machine FOR leatherworkers. We’ve had some good conversations have been able to give a little input, and now we’re going to do a little test drive.
We considered keeping this behind the scenes but I decided I wanted to involve you all in the process, hear your feedback, and hopefully we’ll end up with a machine kit that will really benefit the leather working community as a whole.
I mostly just wanted to brag about Sailrite a bit because I think it’s AMAZING that they’re putting all of us in consideration and asking what we need, as opposed to just guessing or taking a stab like so many big companies do. Whit and I will be unboxing, assembling, testing and reviewing it in a video coming up soon. This will be YOUR chance to give your feedback and let Sailrite know what you want in a leather sewing machine.
Next video coming soon!

Saw this kit at Walmart, looks a lot like my “go to” knife from weaver. I’m sure the quality is garbage. Specifically the blades. but it could probably be a nice place to start. Anyone tried it?
