Lakesong Community: A Glimpse into Grand Prairie and Midlothian's Upcoming Mega Development

In the ever-evolving landscape of real estate development, new details have emerged on the highly anticipated Lakesong community in Grand Prairie and Midlothian, brought to you by Huffines Communities. Originally touched upon by the Dallas Business Journal, the latest news paints an expansive picture of the upcoming community.

Here's What to Expect from Lakesong:

Spanning an impressive 2,000 acres, the development is set to house around 3,000 single-family homes. When all is said and done, we're looking at a vibrant community that approximately 10,000 residents will be proud to call home.

This development isn't just expansive; its location is noteworthy too. Stretching across both Grand Prairie and Midlothian, it takes over a vast segment of undeveloped land, tantalizingly close to the bustling urban cores of DFW. And for those wondering about timelines, construction is slated to begin in 2024.

As for its geographical perks? Lakesong finds its home near the southern edge of Joe Pool Lake, conveniently positioned alongside Hwy 287 and in proximity to Hwy 67. The community promises a blend of residential havens and mixed-use components.

Phillip Huffines, the visionary behind Huffines Communities, expressed his enthusiasm and dedication to the project, saying, "We've collaborated closely with the dedicated team at the City of Grand Prairie for nearly two years. Our aim? To craft an unparalleled, awe-inspiring community that future residents will cherish. Every community we've birthed has been a step above its predecessor, and with Lakesong, we're aiming for the skies."

But There's More!

Lakesong won't just be houses and apartments. It'll be an ecosystem. The plan includes a sprawling 330 acres of open spaces and parks, a seamlessly connected 20-mile trail system, and about 37 acres dedicated to mixed-use development.

Water enthusiasts, rejoice! The community will also showcase the serene 100-acre Padera Lake.

The Grand Prairie City Council, recognizing the potential and promise of Lakesong, recently greenlit a development agreement for it.

Grand Prairie City Manager, Bill Hills, lauded the initiative, remarking, “Lakesong echoes our city's forward-thinking vision. It's thrilling to be part of a venture that will offer both existing and future residents a plethora of residential and recreational avenues.”

Potential homeowners will be spoiled for choice. The housing spectrum in Lakesong will range from apartments and townhomes to lots of varying dimensions, including 40', 55', 60', 75', 80', and expansive 1/3 acre lots.

And for those who appreciate the finer things in life, Lakesong will boast amenity-packed zones like parks on ridges, a comprehensive trail system, a state-of-the-art clubhouse, inviting pools, pickleball courts, myriad parks, a private 100-acre lake, and a slew of expansive fishing ponds.
