Have you ever claimed while driving that [insert state name here] has the worst drivers, or wondered which state has the worst drivers? I had this thought a few times over the past 4 years, most notably in 2022's trip to Tennessee (awful drivers there) and this year's trip to Florida (insanity all over their highways).
Well, after collecting data from several sources and lists, averaging the rankings out, collecting visual data for most states (whether in-person or on YouTube videos), and reading the crash statistics by state, I have created a more-or-less comprehensive map that visualizes which states REALLY have the best and worst drivers on average (3-year average, data valid for 2022-2024).
Any surprises, expectations, discussions, or disagreements? Say something about this map in the comments below!
DISCLAIMER: This map is not perfect and does not (and CANNOT) account for every individual metro area, county, city, or even the person behind the wheel! Bad drivers will exist anywhere in the world with human settlements and roads. Only take this map as a STATISTICAL AVERAGE of the many drivers in each state.

The 2024 Hurricane season begins this Saturday, June 1. Everyone who lives along the Atlantic and Gulf Coast should have a plan if hurricane warnings are issued.
For those not planning to evacuate, I would like your answer:
Which outage is hardest for you to deal with?
On March 26, 2024, the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, MD (completed in 1977) collapsed after a large container ship crashed into the main support beam of the bridge's main span. 6 people are dead, and traffic in the Baltimore region will be heavily impacted for months, if not years.
On a macro scale, billions of dollars worth of traded goods won't be able to dock in Baltimore, and truckers going through the most heavily-populated region in the US will have to take massive detours (either on I-695 north of Baltimore, or on I-81 farther west).
This incident draws many similarities to the Sunshine Skyway disaster on May 9, 1980, when a large ship struck the support beam of the bridge. 35 people died, and a new bridge opened in 1987 with increased safety measures to ensure this never happens again (in Tampa or Florida).
Being from SE Louisiana (a critical port region along with Houston on the Gulf), and crossing the Mississippi River regularly on the Hale Boggs, Huey P. Long, and the Connection, it really makes me wonder: What would happen to myself, people I know, the city, and Louisiana if (in a highly unlikely scenario) any one of these bridges collapse due to a ship collision (obviously it would SEVERELY disrupt traffic and freight!)?
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024!
May y'all have a successful and blessed new year, and may your plans and dreams (whether you are graduating, getting hired, starting a business, getting married, moving to a new home, or other positive major life events) come true this coming year!
