A year ago today, I posted this video that mocks and makes fun of companies that profit from pink economy, or rainbow capitalism but in actuality do not care about people from the LGBTQ+ community. And Iโm bringing this video again because even though itโs a meme video, it exposed a lot of homophobia that still prevails today.
When I uploaded it, I just though it was a silly video and that the stan twitter community (which is made up predominantly, if not all, of people from the LGBTQ+ community) were gonna have a good laugh but the video got in the wrong hands many times of a lot of homophobes that my notifications would just be just that โ homophobic comments (take a shot every time you read the word homophobia/homophobic lmao).
I guess what Iโm trying to say is that even after so many years and decades of queer people fighting for basic human rights and respect - and even though weโve made some advances to the community in recent years - people will always be hateful, ignorant and closed-minded, unfortunately.
So for all my queer friends out there, I wanna tell you that you are not alone if you face any discrimination because of how you identify yourself or because of what you believe in; you have me and the community that makes this channel the place it is and Iโm so thankful for yโall making this channel a place where people can come to forget about the stresses of life, get in touch with other users (not the stragg0t ones), support one another, and more.
