The Institute of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was founded in Viareggio, Italy, in 1894 by Mother Clelia Merloni (1861-1930).
Following St. Paul's motto: "The charity of Christ impels us", the Apostle Sisters carry out their missionary service in the areas of education, health, family, spiritual formation, ecclesial ministry, missions ad extra and social works, continuing Mother Clelia's great dream, which is "to bring a ray of the tenderness of the Love of the Heart of Jesus to all people". A dream of faith and hope that has been realised with admirable excellence and that embraces the world.
