The Issue
My name is Amanda Silvera. I’m a professional voice actor, creator, and entrepreneur based in Canada. I recently discovered that my voice has been cloned using AI without my consent. It’s now being used across the internet in disturbing and exploitative content.
This includes false narrations, deepfakes, imitations of underage voices, and AI-generated pornographic material using my likeness. Some clips even impersonate minors using my voice to lure people into misleading or dangerous situations, all without my knowledge, permission, or control.
And I am not alone.
Across the globe, real people — especially women, artists, and marginalized creators — are being exploited in similar ways. But it’s not the AI itself doing this. It is people using AI as a tool to create harm, profit, or manipulate others.
And yet in Canada, and in many countries, there are still no clear laws protecting our voices, faces, or digital identities from being cloned, manipulated, or sold without consent.....
