Hey peeps! 🤓 Apologies for the radio silence, 'life things' have been getting in the way.

I'm currently working on the Walkthrough Video for Multiband Saturator, which has recently been updated >>>

I hope to get a few videos done before the end of the year, to make up for the 9 months of no content. Feel free to comment with things you would like to see!

🙏💗🎶

A friendly reminder that Multiband Saturator is FREE/DONATE until February 2nd.

Get it here >> robertkgm.gumroad.com/l/gma-mbs

Its been very well received thus far, with people understanding the true power of the deceptively simple device. Most notably people say it’s fast, effective and sounds great.

In February there will be an update that includes new features and some usability improvements to make it even easier to dial in your perfect sound. 😉

Hey peeps 😁
I had planned on doing a video for the release of the latest version of Clipper but have been busy working on a holiday freebie for everyone... In any case, Clipper is faster and more effective than ever before.

If you do not yet own Clipper then you can get 25% off using this link (valid until January 5th, 2025) >> robertkgm.gumroad.com/l/gmaclip/supersonicspeed

Here are just a few things that I have implemented recently in PentaComp 2;

- Completely unique compression via two 'Character' modes (more to be added in the future)
- Less user parameters with more being controlled internally based on a number of parameter values and input signal characteristics
- New Band Weighting design with neighbouring bands contributing more than distant bands.
- Any 'Style' you create can be accessed by all other instances and will move with the device if its saved with a Live Set.

Final testing is now underway... This is undoubtedly the most advanced compression audio effect device in M4L format and my greatest contribution to the platform yet. I'm excited for you to try it!

Im sharing some unfinished works from 2023 as YT Shorts over the next few days.

All of them are first sketches that I briefly arranged into 1min clips. All of them (as with most of my music) are made with native Live instruments and my own M4L devices, with a strong focus on trying something new.

If you have any questions about any of the sounds or production then throw down a comment and let’s chat! Links will be in the comments also…

Hope you dig and happy holidays 🤓

**Fellow Music Nerds & Music-Technology Enthusiasts**

Sound is analogous to electricity in the sense that it is bound by physics, but has a level of entropy. If we think about mixing music like a circuit board, we can create a system that harnesses its power to perform a function. But just like a circuit, there will be fluctuations, conditions where the output isn't as expected, and wear to the components (this includes you). If we design a system to mix music, then how many times will it need to be tested before it fails? The better the system, the less frequent failure will be, but ultimately it will fail. Still, we need a system; otherwise, where do we start?

The problem is, no set of clearly defined steps will yield predictable results when mixing music; there are simply too many variables, both subjectively and objectively. If it did, then it would be known as a linear process, where the output would in some way be proportionate to the input. Instead, we need a nonlinear process, a framework that adapts to varying inputs and aims for the intended output. While this could be defined in mathematical terms, when it comes to mixing music, there are variables we simply don't fully understand, and perhaps never will.

Therefore, mixing music is not just a bag of tricks. It's an understanding of the limitations inherent in the reproduction of sound. It's about defining a sonic vision, assessing your current resources, and charting a course toward that goal. It requires creativity and intuition to continually adapt and problem-solve. This is why a YouTube tutorial will always result in failure.

As an Ableton Certified Trainer, my job is to provide a perspective that allows you to approach challenges in new and innovative ways. To facilitate an environment that encourages you to construct your own evolving framework for music production, one that matures along with you and the ever-changing musical landscape. So next time you're looking to level up your music, don't rely on some random guy on YouTube that knows nothing about you and your music.

Instead... let's create and explore together!
