Hi everyone, welcome to my channel where I share adventures and experiences. Today, I’m going to take you with me to one of the most exciting and traditional events of the year: the Nieuwjaarsduik 2024!

The Nieuwjaarsduik is a New Year’s dive that takes place every year on 1 January at Scheveningen, a seaside resort town in the province of South Holland. It is one of the largest and oldest New Year’s dives in Europe, dating back to 19601. Every year, between 7,000 and 10,000 people participate in this event, which involves jumping into the cold North Sea water from a platform near the Beelden aan Zee sculptures1.

The Nieuwjaarsduik is not only a fun and exhilarating activity, but also a great way to start the new year with a fresh perspective and a positive attitude. The water temperature on this day is usually around 5 degrees Celsius2, so it’s not for the faint-hearted or those who are afraid of water. But trust me, it’s totally worth it!

Before we jump into the water, we have to warm up with some music and exercises. We also get an orange Unox cap that symbolizes our participation in this event1. After we finish warming up, we get ready for the countdown and then we jump together as one big group. The sound of our splashes and cheers fills the air as we celebrate our courage and spirit.

After the dive, we get to enjoy some delicious warm potato soup at a nearby cafe1. It’s perfect to warm up our bodies and souls after such an amazing experience. We also chat with other divers and share our stories and impressions.

The Nieuwjaarsduik is more than just a dive. It’s a tradition that brings people together from all walks of life and backgrounds. It’s a way of expressing ourselves and having fun at the same time. It’s a way of welcoming the new year with joy and gratitude.

If you ever visit Scheveningen during January, don’t miss this opportunity to join me for this unforgettable event. You won’t regret it!

Thank you so much for watching and don’t forget to like, comment and subscribe for more videos like this one. See you next time!

The Hel van Kasterlee is considered to be the toughest winter duathlon in the world, consisting of a 15 km run, a 125 km mountain bike ride, and a final 30 km run. The event is scheduled to take place on December 17, 2023.

The Hel van Kasterlee is not just a duathlon, it’s an exceptional challenge that requires athletes to compete on three levels: (1) struggle with yourself: an endurance test of 8 to 12 hours in winter weather conditions. (2) struggle with nature. (3) struggle with other participants.

Good luck to all the participants! đŸƒâ€â™‚ïžđŸšŽâ€â™‚ïžđŸƒâ€â™‚ïž
