The first time I heard the recordings of what Jessica Barden had done with our new single FINDING MONEY, I genuinely burst out laughing at how good it sounded. It was a tune a long time in the making and since day one I knew it would only be the best version of itself if she was on it. Huge thanks to Jess and to the fixer Jonathan Entwistle for setting it up, and to East London's long lost top boy Roddy for recording it in LA. Hope you all rate the song. Spring has sprung and it sounds elite while staring longingly at the cherry blossom. 🌸
If you haven't got tickets yet, we're gonna be playing songs from our new album live for the very first time at Village Underground in London on April 16 - tickets are flying ⚡️

It takes all types to make a city. Wonky 3AM firebrands. Tragedy-eyed e-girls. Heroic joyriders. Cut-off heiresses slumming it in Stepney. Knights of the living room table and special geezers who turn into birds.

Our new album, WE WILL ANNIHILATE OUR ENEMIES, is out on April 11th. It was written in the space of the last year, and I think it’s the most beautiful album we’ve ever made, as well as the best thing I’ve ever written, lyrically. I feel like I am finally starting to understand the way the world works today, this exhilarating casino with all its horrors and sadnesses; I feel like maybe I am even learning to love it.
You can pre-order the album on vinyl and CD now through our new friends at Tonal, who are also releasing the album. and we just put a load of brand new WWAOE merch on sale too. Shouts to Galen and Luke and Tom Wood for the visual world.
In short, it’s gonna be a big year for the operation. Get your tickets to see us out on tour, where we’ll be playing songs from our new album for the very first time. We can’t wait for you to hear them take flight.
Forza RL

Late-night city music written to one key credo – that all the best ones sound like longing. Real Lies are lyricist Kevin Lee Kharas and Patrick King, from London. Theirs is a world of nocturnal bus rides, Irish pubs, cheap stimulants, radio phone-in lunacy, Donnie Darko, football ultra culture, phones heavy with secrets, ambient high street drizzle, late-night pirate transmissions, and choruses that kiss the stars.
