So I have been working on projects and filming them. But I ran into some issues with each of them, and I've decided that, for the moment, I want to get all the work done on one project then edit all the videos together and release them once the project is totally complete, or at a really good cliffhanger point. Case in point, I made a serious error in the second version of the Telstar Alpha replacement board and had to get a third made. Thanks to that I had a way longer break between the episodes than I planned.

In my move I seem to have lost my wireless lav mic. It wasn't great but it was better than the built in one on the gopro. Anyone have any suggestions for a replacement?

I really want to install the Atari 2600+ firmware update, but I have been holding out for it to come out of beta so I can see what the real user experience will be for updating it. Maybe it's not worth waiting for though. I really want that 7800 emulation working with the 2600 joystick like it's supposed to; just to play Pole Position ][.

So two things about my recent Atari 2600+ Review.
1. This is the fastest I've ever gotten a video to 1000 views, so thank you all so very much!
2. This is why I was so surprised about the 7800 compatibility: www.realcheftom.com/retro-computing/atari-2600

My GoPro Hero9 that I've been using for years, basically since I started the channel, is having serious issues today. Which is annoying because I really wanted to knock out a video this evening while my wife was playing D&D. I'm hoping it's just a battery issue and I can grab a spare one from Best Buy real fast.
But in case that fails, what should I be looking at for a new camera?

I know this is a retro computer channel, but I will be posting some stuff about the new office and homelab stuff. Plus I'm half tempted to see how I build a computer vs Newegg's AI system builder, as a comparison of my new machine vs the one I build for my fiancé.

So the lack of content ends soon. After a 10 week on site work contract, and a move to a new house, I should be back to videos in the next few weeks!
And I've got a lot planned!

If I could read a diagram right, and order the right parts.... well then you'd have a video today. Instead it'll be on Monday or Tuesday, pending the right ICs arriving. Sorry!

I've been trying to get the next two videos done, but I seem to be running into a lot of issues. So hopefully at least one will be out this week. I haven't had the best luck with repairs lately.

I want to save as many old consoles as I can, while also building my dream computer I had while growing up.
Hi, I'm Chef Tom.
As a child of the 80s, I grew up with load of 8 and 16 but computers.
Now that I'm an adult with my own money, I'm trying to collect and restore as many as I can and share them with everyone.
