Pic from Unicoi Shuttle - that’s Wedge’s I’m cold and My Ursack Is Frozen Solid face! While his sleep system kept him cozy at 19F, having wet gear and a frozen food bag is… less than ideal! This is why shuttles and hostels are so great and such an important part of the AT. They keep hikers safe and comfortable and give them refuge when the weather is extreme. Hike on!

Wedge took a triple zero in Hot Springs and didn’t film at all, so it’s been quiet here with no new videos to edit! He had a cut on his leg and some pain which I think may be tendonitis so he had a good rest. He shed a few more items from his pack (pic of box of stuff to send home) and he rebalanced his pack.
He’s back on the trail now and passed the 300 mile mark today!
I expect to have some more video from him when he gets to Erwin.

Wedge has sent a few updates by text including a few pics. He says the Smokies are amazing! They are having great weather. More updates to come once he has better signal or Wi-Fi at Standing Bear in a couple of days. - Cindy

Thank you SO much everyone! Wedge gained so many subscribers in the last couple of days that we shot right past 1000 to 1132! We really appreciate having you follow his journey. He’s in the Smokies right now and sent me this picture last night with the barely-one-bar service he got at the shelter. Hopefully he’s stacking up some great video to send me to edit as soon as he gets back to wifi! Thanks for following!! - Cindy

Yesterday I had the huge pleasure and honor to hike with Birthday Girl. For those of you who don’t know, she is going for the record of Oldest Woman to thruhike the Appalachian Trail. She went over Agony Grind and the Lemon Squeezer. And did a total of 14 miles. She was energetic and hilarious the entire time.
