John has been dubbed "The Godfather Of Reality TV" as the creator, producer, and co-host of "Real People". Debuting in 1979, it not only was the first reality show in TV, but the highest rated show in history. In 1970, he originated the nationally acclaimed "AM LA", where he won his first of five Emmys. He is the only one to have won Emmys for both News and Entertainment. In 1992, he was chosen by New Orleans DA Jim Garrison to tell Garrison's story about his investigation into the murder of JFK.
