Number one we have to agree that we are sick, two we need to want to recover
Seems easy to those who are not addicted. It's never easy to see, admit, and accept that we are in trouble.
When we have a few days or weeks clean the crazy pleasure-seeking or pain-avoiding mind tells us that we were making way too big a deal about it all and a few drinks won't hurt.
And we are off again.
Family is baffled and not realize that we have a mental illness think that we are bad or just don't care and they get angry and shut us out, it's just too painful watching the addict or alcoholic killing himself.
There is a solution.
