Itâs been two weeks since I started my Masterâs program, and let me tell you, itâs been draining. Huge kudos to the single moms doing this! Honestly, Iâve had moments where Iâve thought about unenrolling, but God and my ancestors are giving me the strength to keep going.
We have an assignment to reflect on our college experience, and itâs been emotional. College wasnât the best time of my life. I didnât fit in anywhere, even though I tried so hard to. Looking back, I think this is why I advocate so much for introvertsâit can be incredibly tough.
Recently, a student told me she felt seen when I offered an introvert-focused workshop, and that hit me deeply. It reminded me why I do this. I donât know where Iâm going with this TED Talk, but if you feel like I do, know it gets better. And all thanks to God for getting me through.

All glory to God for the incredible life I've been blessed with.
Cheers to being bougie, introverted, dark-skinned, beautiful, smart, caring, genuine, educated, and so much more.
To think I used to believe I was the ugliest thingâI just hadn't glowed up yet! God has truly blessed me with inner and outer beauty, my life, my husband, my family, and friends. This is something money can't buy. I am grateful to be in the mental space and self-acceptance I am in now.
Little X'Zandria is freaking out because X'Zandria has been doing the damn thing, and damn it, I'm proud of her!
