Something different this weekend - a bit of team fishing as I am fishing in the local winter league. It's been 30yrs since I have fished for section points on a team event at Bagshot Lea in Aldershot if I recall on the little lake catching micro perch and minnows on size 24s.

No fishing for me this weekend so I thought I would leave you my personal review of the breakfast available at The Lake House at Gold Valley. It’s wipe the plate clean fab!

No picture of the weights from today’s match at Gold Valley but I finished on 28lb and it was won with 52lb - maybe if I hadn’t persisted with trying to catch more down the edge when I knew it wasn’t going to happen. I think the fact of the matter is that I just wanted to get out and have a few bits today which I managed so all good. Oh and I also got this fancy clicker which is actually quite helpful :)

Gold Valley today for the Saturday open on the Middle Lake in search of a few bites if nothing else after my recent river escapades. Signal should be ok so I should be live here on YouTube at about 10:50 this morning ready for the all in at 11:00. If you can pop in and say hi and maybe see me catch a fish or 2 🎣🎣

Thank you everyone for the support along the way, from the first livestream to today's video I've really enjoyed sharing my fishing with you all and look forward to doing more of the same.
As you might know we have been washed out on the Thames Festival this week having to cancel the festival after the first day due to the river bursting its banks but I should be out again soon somewhere I can livestream and use up my worm and caster.

Just organising my gear for tomorrow’s Thames Festival. The river is up but I’m prepared for it - now I just need to get a carp rod ready to cast it :)

Well, that didn’t go quite to plan but I had a great time up on the Trent, learnt loads, met a great bunch of anglers and fished a well run and organised event (slight crush at the draw but hey ho)
Not much to say for now except that the fishies were repelled from my peg on both days but no time to lose it’s Thames Fest al this week so onward and upward 🎣🎣

Not so great a day catching 1lb 2oz but most of the field also struggled so I’m half way in the field and still in with a chance tomorrow. Lots of other great things about today - I didn’t blank, I didn’t fall in and the set up looked fab :)

I have arrived at my hotel for the evening so time to get me head down, early start - breakfast from 7 and draw at 8:30 - let’s hope it’s a flat float day - I have enough with me :)

Casters are all sorted and ready to go - as is the groundbait, pinkies, hemp, maggots, pellet, meat and worms that I’ll be using for the Riverfest final this weekend and Thames Festival next week.
I know that 90% of the Thames pegs will have no suitable signal and I might have to just record the Riverfest so I can focus on not falling in off my platform 😀
But as always I will have the cameras rolling so there should always be some good coverage of how things have gone and I’ll post some pictures to my instagram (The Fishing Stream) along the way.

I believe you can have great fun watching other anglers, interacting and chatting with them, discussing tactics, offering advice and working things out together - perhaps it helps give you some ideas of your own, perhaps it gives you the motivation to get out on the bank or perhaps its just authentic viewing seeing all the good, and bad things that happen :)
