Al-Aqsa al-Qadim
Beneath the heart of Masjid Al-Qibly lies the timeless sanctuary of Ancient Aqsa, a sacred space stretching gracefully from north to south. Its stone pillars, standing firm through the ages, are believed by some to have been erected by Jinns during the era of Prophet Sulaiman [Solomon] (عليه السلام), as referenced in the Qur’an:
“And to Solomon (We made) the Wind (obedient): Its early morning (stride) was a month’s (journey), and its evening (stride) was a month’s (journey); and We made a Font of molten brass to flow for him; and there were Jinns that worked in front of him, by the leave of his Lord, and if any of them turned aside from our command, We made him taste of the Penalty of the Blazing Fire.
They worked for him as he desired, (making) arches, images, basons as large as reservoirs, and (cooking) cauldrons fixed (in their places): “Work you, sons of David, with thanks! but few of My servants are grateful!”
(Qur’an, Surah Saba, chapter 34, verses 12-13)
These stones carry whispers of history and divine craftsmanship, a testament to faith and reverence echoing across centuries.

Alhamdulillah! In the blessed lands of Palestine, as a gentle Palestinian cat extends its salam, I am filled with gratitude to Allah for the profound honour of praying at Bayt al-Maqdis, the Qibli Mosque at Masjidil Aqsa, Al Quds. Here, where our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was miraculously transported by night from Masjid al-Haram in Makkah to Masjid Al Aqsa, my heart makes du’a for each of you, dear brothers and sisters. May Allah (SWT) grant you the opportunity to stand in prayer at this sacred site and feel its spiritual beauty. Ameen. 🤲🏻 Do not be discouraged by the trials and tribulations you face; Masjid Al Aqsa calls each and every one of us to come and fill its halls once again with worshippers devoted to their Lord to pray.

Alhamdulillah! Last night at Lyzik Lanzhou Beef Noodle in Chinatown at 283 South Bridge Road, my friends and I experienced more than just an incredible meal — we were embraced by a warm, authentic dining experience from start to finish. The Muslim-owned restaurant, run by skilled Chinese Muslim chefs from China, offered a glimpse into the rich culinary traditions of Lanzhou, with the atmosphere alive with the sounds of hand-pulled noodles being expertly crafted.
Beyond the iconic hand-pulled beef noodles, we were fortunate enough to sample several signature dishes not yet on the menu, like tender lamb ribs, flavourful mutton skewers, grilled Szechuan peppercorn fish, hearty claypot chicken, and perfectly grilled eggplants. Every dish was a flavourful journey, with each bite more memorable than the last.
What truly stood out was the exceptional hospitality. The waiters were attentive and gracious, pulling out chairs for us and responding quickly to any request. Their thoughtfulness made the experience feel elevated, with each detail contributing to the sense of being truly taken care of.
To top it off, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, whose passion for bringing authentic Chinese Muslim cuisine to Singapore was evident. Before we left, he kindly gifted me a beautiful Chinese tea set — a gesture that made the night even more special. The owner also encouraged me to bring many of the Muslim reverts I’m in touch with to visit the restaurant, making it clear that this is more than just a place to eat — it’s a welcoming space for the Muslim community.
On top of everything, the restaurant provides a dedicated prayer space for Muslims, accommodating up to 8 people at a time — a thoughtful touch for guests seeking convenience and comfort.
For an unforgettable halal dining experience that blends incredible food, tradition, and outstanding hospitality, Lyzik Lanzhou Beef Noodle is a must-visit. Gather your friends and family, explore the unique flavours, and enjoy the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes every moment memorable.

Tonight, I had the pleasure of attending Teh & Slay: Fellowship of Faith (Keeping In Good Company) (@masjid.al.falah), and it was truly a night to remember. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a shared sense of purpose as we gathered to explore the profound importance of companionship on our spiritual journey.
The discussion delved deep into how true friendship transcends this life, guiding us toward Taqwa (piety) and Tawakkal (trust in Allah). It reminded me of how essential it is to surround ourselves with those who inspire us to become better versions of ourselves, not just in this world but for the Hereafter as well. The idea of Sahabat Dunia Akhirah (friends for this life and the Hereafter) resonated deeply with everyone, sparking meaningful conversations about the kind of people we allow into our lives and the impact they have on our faith and character.
It was a night filled with reflection, inspiration, and a renewed sense of the value of good company on our spiritual journey, and most importantly the Teh was free flow. I left feeling more grounded and grateful for the companionship of those who uplift me both in this world and the next. Ameen 🤲🏻
