Seamus Heaney’s translation of Beowulf brings new life to the Old English epic, blending the poem’s heroic grandeur with his signature lyrical depth. Originally published in 1999, Heaney’s version captures both the rugged, muscular intensity of the original and the rich storytelling that has made Beowulf a cornerstone of literature...

There seems to be evidence to the fact that there was another manuscript, that the Cotton Vitellius A XV was copied from. This MS might well have been written in the 700s. The two scribes who wrote the CV AXV, seemed to not know that they were coping. This would suggest that they couldn't read the text. Was the Original written in the 700s? Where is the original?

The Cotton Vitellius A XV: A Treasure of English Literary History

Imagine a world where the epic poem Beowulf didn’t survive. No fierce battles with Grendel, no dragon slaying, and no glimpse into Anglo-Saxon heroism. That might have been the case if not for a single, fragile manuscript: the Cotton Vitellius A XV.

This remarkable book is not only a cornerstone of English literature but also a witness to history’s trials and triumphs. Let’s take a closer look at what makes this manuscript so special.

New blog post going live with a new video tomorrow at 3pm GMT.

Week 4, session 1. Reached my goal for month 1. I’m ahead of where I’d planned to be. Now, I have 2 months to double that weight.

I guess I should post one of these every time I hit the gym, you know, as proof.

Okay yeah, so I used my finger to block the sun. Could I have taken this picture from a different angle, yes, but I didn't.

So, The Wednesday Project started today. Which is actually week 3 of this journey, and I am working up to lifting half my body weight by the end of next week.

I haven't been to a gym and properly lifted in years;

Week 1, taught me that I wasn't as strong as I thought.
Week 2, after finally recovering from week 1, I went light and did more reps.
Week 3, this week, I already beat my target for next week on 5 of the 6 lifts, most were at half my body weight plus 10kg. So I'm way ahead of where I thought I'd be.

The goal is to lift my body weight (as it was 2 weeks ago) of 73kg or 162lbs.

Then I work for the next 9 months to double my body weight (as it will be) more on that later.

I've tried to make this week's video twice and failed. Miserably.

Need a rethink.

Over the next three years I'll be working on these four things;

1, My Sleep
2, My Diet
3, My workouts
4, My Studies.

In three years I'll be 50.

When I'm 50 I finally want to become what I wanted to become when I grew up... BATMAN!

I've hit my mid-life crisis. I guess 47yo is the magic number.

I'm going to start testing out some things to see how they work and how far I can manipulate them to work better for me.

My Sleep.
My Diet.
My Workout Plan.
My Study Plan.

The plan is to become utterly bulletproof by 50 years old (16th July 2027). Mentally, Physically, Intellectually.
