I’ve been getting lots of messages and I’ve seen lots of comments from people saying, what’s happened to the 2nd channel and the videos on there!

Going forward I’m going to be uploading everything onto my main channel, whether it’s van related or not. I think for far too long I’ve been creatively unhappy and felt very trapped feeling like every video I create has to be about a van of some sort. This has caused me to create videos purely for the sake of uploading something, even tho it’s not a video I really want to make or a video that fulfills me creatively.

I’m going to go into a lot more detail about this in a video in the next few weeks. I want my channel ‘Will’s Whereabouts’ to be about whatever excites me in life, whether it’s a flat renovation, travelling or building a van. I’m so bored and done of making one style of content in one specific niche that I’d rather quit and get a normal job or actually just upload whatever I want onto my main channel. So going forward the flat renovation videos and other things will all be on the main channel!

Saying that I do have another van video coming out next week then I’ll update you all properly in a video 👊🏻

Exciting times ahead 🏡. Let me introduce you to our new 1 bed flat that we’re the new proud owners of. A few reasons we love it:

- Nice & spacious with an open feel to all the rooms (61sqm to be precise)
- Lots of natural light coming in both sides of the building to help on those dark depressive days
- Stones throw from a few pubs & train station & 10 min walk into town
- Realistically doesn’t need a crazy amount of work doing to it but we’ll be making it our own
- Very handy basement area for storage (only downside, it’s covered in mould and damp)
- Allocated parking bay

As you may or may not have seen I’m going to be documenting the whole process of me and Evie turning this ex rental flat into our first wonderful home together. I’ll be sharing all of this on my second YouTube channel Will’s Whereabouts 2.0 (link in the comments).

Expect some more dodgy DIY but more importantly more fun and new skills to be learnt and developed. We’re starting in the bedroom so we can hopefully move in next week. It’s been very slow progress so far with only ripping out the carpet as we found a leak under the bath tub and then going away to France for a few days so not a lot of movement has happened. We also started to remove any old sealant around the skirting boards, window frame and door frame and re sealed all of that in preparation to start painting and decorating this week.

If you want to follow what we get up to on the flat and other more personal things in my life, this will all now be on the second channel, with the main channel being more focused around van related content and higher video production.

If you’ve got any DIY, interior design or general ideas you think we should consider doing with the space then let me know!

The first video will be out tomorrow evening at 7pm. 👊🏻

It’s the simple pleasure in life isn’t it. I think the interior of Mary might finally be finished ……. Or maybe not 😂!

✅ Office table installed
✅ Shoe storage added
✅ Gas locker installed
✅ Garage slightly tidied up
✅ Waste tank unblocked
✅ Bed trim re-added
❌ Fly net - TBC

New video out now - https://youtu.be/cXxZZeuaFxI?si=ToJRz... for what I hope to be the final upgrades on this van, although there are a few additional things I’d like to get sorted!

- Rear wheel carrier (if anyone knows where I can get one let me know)
- Get the van painted or wrapped
- Mud guards
- Suspension upgrade

It never really ends let’s be honest!

VIDEOS COMING SOON…….

Is it just me or is Mary looking sexier and sexier as the days go by 😍!

She’s new and improved and some of these jobs may have taken me 5 times longer than I expected or wanted them to but what can you do 🤷🏻‍♂️. She’s still not 100% finished, a handful of jobs and tweaks left to do.

P.s I’ll see you back on your screens this Sunday at 6pm but it’s not a vehicle you’d expect to see me working on, more of dodgy DIY Will to follow 😂.

It’s not perfect but it’s certainly better than what it was, new PIR motion sensor light and LED strip inside so when I open the door the light comes on automatically. LED strip underneath for extra work surface lighting, gas struts added to support the weight of the door and a bit of shelving and dividers installed to keep things more organised and also create more space.

Honestly trying to cut the wood to some of the weird shapes and curves does my nut in. Especially when you’re just figuring it out on the job. Genuinely thought doing this would take me a few hours but it ended up taking 2 bloody days 😂.

Any carpenters out there want to come and teach me the basics of carpentry and joinery so I can learn how to cut a piece of wood straight please get in touch 😂. I’m deadly serious, DM me because I’d love to learn from someone who knows what they’re doing!

The upgrades continue ……… p.s videos coming soon I promise!

I don’t even know what version of Mary this is anymore 😂. Let’s call it Version 2.5 as I’m back and finally trying to finish off all of the little upgrades and modifications to the van to make it that little bit more practical and functional.

It literally took me the entire day to remove the kitchen cupboard, sand it down a little, carpet the inside, screw it back on and then work out the wiring for the lights I’m adding in. Best thing about it, I’ve not even finished it 🤬.

Anyone else get super frustrated and wound up with themselves for doing a job you think will be relatively easy and straight forward for it to then literally take 100x longer than you thought! 🤷🏻‍♂️

I suppose that’s all part of the learning process isn’t it but my god why does everything take so long!
