Sorry, no regularly scheduled video this week!! While Matt was recovering from a flu he picked up at Boat Show, I had my parents in town for the week, and they spent a few days helping out on the boat.
In my lifetime, my parents have built 4 of the houses we've lived in, and I was very curious to have them as a part of our build for a few days, and see what they thought of it.
Don't worry - a full video on this will be coming out in 2 weeks! 🥰

Sorry there's no new video out today. We decided to escape the tent and get some fresh mountain air in the Pacific Northwest. We spent the week reconnecting with our friends at BRNKL, and @OddLifeCrafting was there too.
We had a wonderful week split between Victoria and Tofino on Vancouver Island, filled with so many activities that I don't even know if we'll be able to document them all. It was exactly what we needed to take our mind off boat work for just a few days, yet get us revved up to finish our project so we can sail to places like this.

No new video to post this week. We're using this break in the weather to catch up on a number of boat projects - including sanding!!
Now that it is tolerable inside the tent to wear long sleeves and pants, it's time to prep the area where our chainplates are, so we can beef them up with some extra layers of glass.

We ended up mixing about 75 oz of thickened resin while preparing to glass our bridge deck seam .... only to realize later we could have filled the area with spare foam. I wonder how much vinyl ester that would have saved us? Oh well, too late now. This is how we learn.

Have you seen our latest video where we rely on two sets of jack stands to permanently bond our bridge deck into place? It's a good one!

Fresh off the wetting table! Our 1208 fiberglass is ready to be applied to the inner hull seam to REALLY beef up the strength!

Matt is busy playing chemist - mixing up a batch of our methacrylate. This will go on our inner hull pieces to PERMANENTLY bond them to the main hull.
Another big milestone for us! 🎊👷

We're getting ready for a BIG step on our catamaran build! But what could it be? Check out our newest video to find out!

Sailing the world to see the world! We're a couple of high school sweethearts in our late 30's that have been on the move for 9 years; creating videos of the ups, the downs, our triumphs and our trials.
After circumnavigating the North Atlantic in our last boat Serendipity, (1989 Sabre Targa 34), we took on a 2 year complete refit of our new boat Elements of Life - a custom aluminum 37' monohull. After sailing her to the Arctic, we sold her in 2020 to begin our newest project of building a 42 ft catamaran.
