One of you out there has been sending us goodies in the mail. 🤭 Whoever you are, I assume you’re determined to stay anonymous. But I hope you know we are thoroughly enjoying the horse feed, flax treats and joint supplements and it makes us feel so special to be gifted things for our horse rescue. The turtles didn’t hatch two nights ago, nor the night before, but this group of volunteers and turtle watchers are feeling really positive about tonight!!
I was even asked to be a turtle counter 🤩😱

We are possibly just moments away from a momentous occasion. Volunteers of the Topsail Island Sea Turtle Patrol have gathered to ensure safe passage for a nest of loggerhead turtles, which are listed as critical.
We’ve come two nights in a row to listen to the experts explain how critical this area of the beach strand is to the survival of this species.
Fingers crossed for an epic and safe hatching!
