Hi from Derrybawn in the Wicklow Mountains overlooking the upper lake in Glendalough! Iām out gallivanting but not recording today.
I wanted to let you know that Iāve registered for the Very Pink Run 2024 (10k) organised by Breast Cancer Ireland which is taking place on August 31st. Iāve decided to fundraise for the event this year and Iām badgering my friends to see if theyād like to contribute to this valuable cause and Iāll put the work in and complete the 10k of course š¤

Today I hopefully had my final chemo session š Iāve felt incredibly supported by the YouTube community after sharing what was happening - a huge heartfelt thanks for your messages and seeming genuine care and support ā¤ļø
The chemo was completed over 4 months with 12 planned sessions. I missed two sessions along the way due to infections and had to make up one of those, resulting in a total of 11 sessions completed.
The next phase of treatment is surgery and this will be scheduled following results from scans that will be undertaken next week. Iād love to get away for an adventure with the tent and camera before surgery - stepping away from the management of chemo side effects and getting back to things I havenāt been able to do āŗļø Iāll be out of action for a few months after surgery again so I hope I can do itā¦planning is underway anyway!
I wish you all really well and I hope to see you again soon to show off some more of beautiful Ireland and have some fun doing it! Thanks again xx

Hi All - I had the pleasure of visiting Gola Island off the Donegal coast for an overnight trip with the very talented Alyn Jones (āŖ@walkwatchersā¬).
Alyn is undertaking a project to interview various outdoors people to discover what motivates and inspires them to the outdoors - this is the second of such videos and he has a number of future interviews scheduled with others we are familiar with.

Wild camping, hiking and bike touring videos of places Iāve visited in Ireland - from mountains, islands, coastal and inland trails. The majority of my trips are done alone which make them very personal in the time Iām spending with myself.
They might inspire you to visit places you havenāt seen before or re-visit a place you once visited. Solo trips like these have become a valuable part of my life and maybe one of these videos might inspire you to do the same if you feel any inner yearning to do so.
Iām pretty new to wild camping and hiking - but in a few short years Iāve learned the basics of navigation and invested in gear that makes it more enjoyable and comfortable for me. The freedom and pleasure that comes from spending time with myself in nature will hopefully be evident to you in some small way from watching these videos.
