After years of looking, I finally have a lathe. This first project is nothing too exciting, but hopefully there is a pie in my future!

Looks like black wins! My powder coater is closed for covid so since I have to spray paint it, I figure I can do some experimenting and just paint over if I don’t like it. I got a few suggestions for a chocolate brown that is a shade darker than the largest knot in the tabletop. Here’s that trial and I think I love it!
