The Golden State has welcomed reggae with open arms since it’s inception in Jamaica in the 1960s. California’s adaptation of the genre came to prominence with the international explosion of Sublime, adding hip-hop and rock to the foundation. Inspired by the sounds and culture of positivity, the next generation of bands built upon the experience, creating their own festivals, topping charts and touring to large audiences. California Reggae All-Stars are a group of multi-instrumentalists comprised of members from some of those acts, performing covers of fan-favorites across the genre.
