OMG, this is a most excellent presentation for those of us wanting a pretty and native-dominated garden. I learned so much!!!
I harvested my Red Norland potatoes today. My first time growing potatoes of any kind, and I’m happy with the result! I also harvested a big bucket of rocks out of the soil … over time I hope there will be fewer and fewer in these raised beds. Potatoes went into the ground on Mar 31 and were harvested on July 27.
We harvested chamomile at the Master gardener demonstration garden this morning. Now to pull and dry the flowers… one of those relaxing tasks that soothes and brings chances for conversation 🥰
The back gardens aren’t as obviously flower-filled as a few weeks ago, but I still found all of these blossoms there last night.
Left: Cancan rosebuds, pink and blue Bachelors Buttons, wood hyacinths, brunnera
Center: Nellie Moser clematis, bok choy seed head, Spanish bluebells, forgetmenot
Right: wallflower, nepeta, Furman’s red autumn sage, lunaria (honesty)
Some folks asked how big the Leaf veg bed is... so I put the drone up again today, and then measured all the spaces. It's actually a lot of room!!! About 17' lengthwise, and about 9' at its widest point.
The adventure begins tonight! Studying in the Maryland Master Gardener Program in Baltimore City. #mastergardener
