A very small step for mankind, quite a giant leap for the man behind this project. The raw casting arrived. And some remains of concrete model sand give me a hard time.

Ladies & Gents, Q.L.E. proudly presents (most likely) world strongest JAWA 559 / 575 / 573 cylinder. Iā€™m really please, everything fits perfect. What a pitty though, just plastic!

The (technical) Sexiness Of Holes. They often look good and weigh little. The 559RR cylinder (back to classic cooling fins of course) is not materialized yet, but ready to finally and totally twist the vintage JAWA frame.

Trying to convince FreeCAD to work with me. Question for the 2-stroke scientists: what is better a) sub exhausts port channels in wide bow / curve or around the studs BUT exit not straight in flow-line of main gas path OR b.) more straight channels which on the other hand hit the stud right in the middle just after exhaust wave leaving the port window.

I honestly donā€˜t know.

Hi! Still alive. And finally some hardware ready to race. Thanks to MotoGears.cz my pre-machined gearbox parts came back with perfectly shaped and hardened tooth. Some just need a little grindingā€¦

Something different this time: A special plug & play 300 cc big bore kit for Kawasaki Estrella BJ250 / TR250. Based on stock cylinder fitted with a new home-made sleeve, piston and special Japanese gaskets. Can deliver up to 25 HP (with further modification of exhaust etcā€¦.). Why just 300 cc? Recently got hold of some special reproduced JAWA pipes for the rare Supersport model - most people probably never heard of. Really funny baffle plates in there! I wanted to make them my stealth resonance pipes @ original chrome plating - so I had to cut 4 to make 2 extended ones - together with a lot of surgery to get the baffles out without cutting the pipes again and againā€¦ long story short: who would have thought that the outer diameter varies along the length? It doesnā€™t look like it does but it... Need to think how to bring this to an endā€¦

Hi Folks!

Here are few impression of a trial job & tool for a quite special piston repair: Very rarely it might happen that the pin bore of a piston is worn out with the rest in good shape still. But what to do if you have such a case in front of you? I repair it with a 0,5 mm thick bronze bushingā€¦
